What is Pitch Perfect Security?

Pitch Perfect Security is a monthly event for information security practitioners (sorry, no sales!) to network, eat great food, drink beer and learn about some of the hottest security startups. There’s a really fun twist, however – Pitch Perfect Security puts startups in front of industry thought leaders, all evaluated by YOU– the audience, in the form of a prediction market.

Think American Idol meets Shark Tank meets Fantasy Football!

What’s a prediction market?

Prediction markets harness the collective wisdom of crowds to get accurate predictions about the outcome of future events. At Pitch Perfect Security, participants will make predictions on future events in the field of information security and also the future success of the startups that are pitching.

The primary objectives behind Pitch Perfect Security are to, 1) introduce the audience to cutting-edge security companies, and 2) identify participants that are really good predictors.

What does this cost?

Nothing. This is free to play and free to attend. Bets are placed with fantasy currency (called Clinkles), which are also provided free.

How do I play?

It’s very easy. You need to sign up for a free account (see instructions below) and log into the prediction market via a smartphone app or web browser.

Each participant will receive a set amount of Clinkles to place bets on events. Events are listed on the Pitch Perfect Security web page. You can update your bets on events up until the moment it closes – when an event closes, all bets will be judged and the leaderboard will be populated.

Your Clinkles will roll over from challenge to challenge, event after event. Eventually, the best predictors will rise to the top of the leaderboard.

Are the best predictors rewarded?

YES! The “games” never end and can be updated even after you leave the Pitch Perfect Security event. Top players on the leaderboard will be recognized and will receive prizes at subsequent Pitch Perfect Security events.

 

Getting Started

Creating an Account

• Download and install the Cultivate Forecasts app from the Apple or Android app store:
• Next, set up an account. Enter pitchperfect before .cultivateforecasts and click on Sign Up
• Enter an email address, username, password and click Sign Up. You will receive a confirmation email to verify your address.

Signing in (app)

• Open the Cultivate Forecasts app. Enter pitchperfect before .cultivateforecasts, enter your email address and password. Click Sign In.

Signing in (Web Browser)

• Point your web browser to: https://pitchperfect.cultivateforecasts.com
• Sign In with your email address and password.
